Powderpuff Football Game Raises Funds for Charity
The "Bodacious Blue" team, pictured left, was victorious in the Old Saybrook High School (OSHS) Interact Club’s Powderpuff Football game on Sunday, Oct. 25.  With a final score of 14-7, the Blue team defeated the “Pink Panthers” and meanwhile,the OSHS Interact Club raised over $1,000 for the Invisible Children charity.  Read More ...

In a game marked by missed opportunities for both teams, Old Lyme fought back from a disastrous start against Old Saybrook to make it a one-point game at 33-32 with just a minute left on the clock.  Ultimately, the Wildcats could not close the deficit and the final score of 34-32 reflected Ian Rosser’s last minute free throw for the Rams. Read More ...

The Old Saybrook girl's basketball team faced North Branford last night and coach Steve Woods was looking for a win.  He not only left with a loss (40-27), but, in his words, "We fell apart - we couldn't score."  His disappointment was especially deep since the Rams (2-3) had opened strongly and were up 9-2 early in the first quarter.  Read More ...

Rams Fail in Quest for Third Consecutive Win of the Week
The Rams started the week off well with a convincing win over Hyde 45-22 on Tuesday and followed that with another (56-42) against Valley on Thursday. Coach Steve Woods was really hoping his girls would make it three for three today by defeating Portland and thus taking the team to an encouraging 5-6 record. Keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer, Old Lyme clung to a one-point overtime victory (36-35) over the Rams last night.  But the Wildcats were not looking much like ultimate victors in the first half, scoring only one point in the first quarter and six in the second, while Amanda King poured in the points for the Rams. Read More ...

Senior Souza Ties Nation's Top Time
Senior Rodrigo Souza from Old Saybrook High School has broken school and state records, and now he is ranked number one in the nation in the 55 meter high hurdles.  On Jan. 16, at the Yale-New Haven relays Souza ran the distance in 7.43 seconds—a time that is tied for first in the nation with an athlete from Georgia. Read More ...

The Valley Shore Marlins is one of Eastern Connecticut’s premier swim teams. The team trains at Valley Shore YMCA in Westbrook and the boys and girls, who range in age from 10 to 14, have recently completed a very successful Long Course season.
